My name is Elbert Smith, and I’m a small-town writer, director, filmmaker, and artist. Brave Little Soldier Entertainment is my new production company and the next chapter in my filmmaking journey.

I created this blog as a place where I can keep everyone up to date on what we’re doing here at Brave Little Soldier. I’ll be sharing news about our films, projects currently in development, festival updates, behind-the-scenes stories, artwork, and probably a few thoughts about the strange process of making independent movies along the way.

Right now, we’ve just completed a new short film that has officially begun its journey on the film festival circuit. I can’t wait to tell you more about the film, how it came together, and where it goes from here. I’ll be writing a full post about it very soon.

Brave Little Soldier Entertainment may be a small independent company, but that’s part of what makes this exciting. I’ve always believed that you don’t need a massive studio or millions of dollars to tell a good story. You need an idea, determination, talented people willing to take the journey with you, and maybe just enough craziness to actually make the thing.

There are a lot of stories I still want to tell, and this is where I’ll be sharing that journey.
